The Rongai route starts just south of Kenya- Tanzania border and has been almost unused for many years because the area was considered sensitive. Now open for climbing once again, experienced guides consider this ascent route to be both easier and more beautiful than the main Marangu trail.<\/p>\n

\nDrive to Kilimanjaro National Park gate for entry formalities then proceed to the starting point. Climb with picnic lunch to Second Cave (3400m) and spend the night here. From this point, you will enjoy a panoramic view of beautiful flower fields, Lake Chara and the Mawenzi peak.<\/td>\n		Second Cave. Fullboard<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nTake the mid-night hike to Uhuru peak, the highest point in Africa getting there at sunrise. Descend to Horombo hut for lunch, dinner and stay overnight.<\/td>\n		Horombo Hut.
