This is much more attractive and exciting wilderness route. To climb the mountain, the ascent and descent takes between five and nine days. The mountain can be climbed by any normally fit person, with the assistance of a guide and porters. The park has six hiking routes through the Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve: Marangu, Machame, Umbwe, Shira (Lemosho and Londorossi), Mweka and Rongai.<\/p>\n

\nDrive to Londorossi Park Gate then on to the Lemosho glades to the trailhead at 6,890 ft\/2100m. Walk through the forest to Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite for dinner and overnight stay.<\/td>\n		Mti Mkubwa camp.

\nTrek across several streams in the heather zone of the mountain and cross the Shira Ridge on to the Shira Plateau where we camp for the night.<\/td>\n		Shira plateau camp.

5<\/td>\nAM<\/i><\/span><\/td>\nKibo hut -Summit(19,340ft\/5895m)- Horombo hut<\/strong>
\nMidnight trek to the summit via Gilman\u2019s Point. After a short period of photo taking at Uhuru peak, descend to Kibo Hut for breakfast. Continue down to Horombo Hut for the day\u2019s and night\u2019s rest.<\/td>\n		Horombo Hut.

\nAcross the Karanga Valley and ascend to Barafu campsite. Have dinner and take the day\u2019s rest ready for the hike to the summit.

\nAn extra day for acclimatization can be added by staying overnight at Karanga camp then proceed to Barafu camp the next day.<\/td>\n		Barafu camp.
